WHO YOU ARE HELPING

  • The Davis Moon Project serves 2,000 children in Pre K-8th grade in a rural village in Arbegona

  • 70% are considered orphan by the government as either orphans or from very poor single parent families; many sleep outside and look after their younger siblings

  • The school runs two five hour shifts with 85 kids per class sitting 3 to a desk in the 12 classrooms

  • Ethiopia has suffered a drought and cholera outbreak for two years, made worse by clean water issues

  • A DMP volunteer mission leaves on June 22 for 17 days to deliver supplies, 500 uniforms, blackboards and infrastructure and plan next steps

  • DMP adopted the school in 2009 and expanded it from 2 classrooms with dirt floors for 98 kindergartners to 16 rooms with concrete floors. It also added a water well, irrigation and electricity

  • 100% of donations support the cause as DMP is 100% volunteer driven. It is led by Davis Moon’s mother and original caretaker after he came home to Texas from Ethiopia in 2007
